Straight answers, no fluff.
The 17 most common parent questions — teaching, team, activities, communication, inclusion. Find details on fees, transfers, enrolment or the new campus below.
How is FLOW different from other schools?
FLOW is a Founders' School — founded by founders, for future founders. We teach children to take things into their own hands, to create, and not to be afraid of mistakes.
- Founders mindset from 1st grade
- Native English speakers daily
- Hejný's + classical maths
- Max 16 students, 2 adults daily
What does a typical school day look like?
We open in the morning at 7:30 (morning club). The morning circle starts at 8:15 — tuning in, the day's plan, sharing. Then two 90-minute blocks separated by a snack, lunch at noon, and an afternoon block until 14:30. After-school club or activities until 17:00.
The classroom has three zones — direct teaching, calm/relaxation, and deep work. Children move between them according to the task and their own needs. No bells, no rush.
Do children get homework?
Not the traditional "due Monday" kind. Instead we prepare open-ended thematic extensions — children can explore them at home with parents or in pairs with classmates.
Once a week we offer optional worksheets for those who want to go deeper. Everything voluntary, never required.
What does English instruction look like?
We combine innovative project-based teaching with Cambridge English–accredited courses. The emphasis is practical — authentic conversation, not grammar drills.
On the team we have 2 native speakers (Kathleen from the US, Karlie from the UK) and 1 English teacher (Jelena). Children hear different accents and dialects. Technology (tablets, apps) supports active participation. Detail on English at FLOW.
How are technology and AI integrated into lessons?
Children create with technology — they don't just consume it. We teach Scratch Jr (grade 1) → Scratch → Python, robotics with LEGO, 3D modelling in Tinkercad. For older grades: HTML/CSS/JS, Roblox Studio, Unity.
For AI we use the "AI for kids" methodology — safe, thoughtful use of generative tools for creative and educational purposes. We guide children toward critical thinking about technology and safe online behaviour. Detail on IT and digital literacy.
What if my child has specific learning needs (ADHD, dyslexia…)?
A strong focus on individual approach. Every pupil — gifted, average, with special needs — has room to develop at their own pace.
Mixed-age groups in maths (Hejný's + classical combined), differentiation at each child's level. External specialists as needed (speech therapist, counsellor), and our in-house special-needs teacher for everyday support.
Who are the teachers at FLOW?
12 team members: 3 in leadership, 2 class teachers, 3 English teachers (2 native speakers + 1 English teacher), 2 assistants/afternoon educators, an in-house special-needs teacher, a PE teacher. Plus external collaboration with IT teachers and partners (Kiddům, Supercreators).
All with an open mind, courage to experiment and a focus on individual pupil growth. Detail with photos on Our team.
How many adults are in the classroom during lessons?
Three adults daily: the class teacher (CZ or native speaker), a teaching assistant and an English-speaking teacher. Three pairs of eyes, three ways of helping.
They're backed up by the in-house special-needs teacher, an external psychologist, a speech therapist and methodologists. We also work with external experts on real-world competencies.
How many children are in a class?
Maximum 16 children per class. This limit is a deliberate pedagogical choice — the teacher really has time for every child, individual pace, not the average.
For Little FLOW (Kindergarten) capacity is 24 children in a separate operation.
What extracurricular activities does FLOW offer?
A varied range of afternoon clubs in collaboration with an agency and external practitioners. The current offering adapts each year to children's interests — e.g. space club, yoga, sports/movement club, junior scientist, art club.
Activity prices: CZK 1,500–3,500/semester depending on choice. Plus after-school club (CZK 5,000/semester). Detail on Fees.
Do you organise nature trips?
Yes, regularly. We combine traditional teaching with outdoor learning, fun activities and swimming. This experience strengthens the learning process and supports children's overall development in an inspiring setting.
Do you host events for the whole family?
Yes, regularly. Demo Days every month — children present their projects to parents. Plus interactive workshops for parents with children, talks, a welcome BBQ and an end-of-year team-building day.
Family = a key part of the learning process.
How can parents get involved?
We see parental involvement as a key element of successful learning. Parents attend Demo Days, workshops, talks and three-way meetings (tripartites), where they actively contribute and give feedback.
We also welcome parents who regularly read the updates we share about school activities and their child's progress.
How does the school communicate with parents about a child's progress?
Multi-layered communication: narrative reports twice a year, tripartite meetings twice a year (parent + child + teacher), consultation weeks. Parents can follow ongoing results in Edookit (the school's information system).
Plus monthly Demo Days with project presentations. Short messages in the class channel on a rolling basis — contact whenever you need it.
How will the kindergarten and elementary school be separated on the new campus?
On the new Balabenka campus (from 1 September 2026), Little FLOW (Kindergarten) has its own entrance and operation. The elementary school and the kindergarten are legally separate but share the campus and brand. Detail on New campus.
Does the school have a psychologist or special-needs teacher?
Yes. We have an in-house special-needs teacher (Stella Viková) — at school every day, not externally. For targeted support she works 1:1 or in small groups.
Plus external collaboration: psychologist, speech therapist, counsellor — as needed, always in coordination with parents. We build the network — you don't have to search alone. Detail on Wellbeing.
My child doesn't speak English. Is that a problem?
No English is not a problem. Our school is open to everyone with an individual approach. Native speakers and teachers help children start from zero — naturally, without stress.
How do you handle conflicts between children?
We use restorative conversations: name the situation → agree on repair → check that it worked. No punishment, with responsibility. Children learn to resolve conflicts, not suppress them.
Plus the buddy system (older children mentor younger ones) and class agreements built with the children. Detail on Wellbeing programme.
