English at FLOW

Confident, natural English, embedded across the day.

All Levels Welcome

Levelled Groups

Whether your child is hearing English for the first time or comes from an English-speaking family, we teach in mixed-level groups where children learn from each other and progress at a pace that makes sense for them.

CLIL in Practice

Throughout the day, teachers use English naturally during science, art, maths, and projects. This approach embeds English as a living language, not just a subject to be studied in isolation.

The Lesson Model

From Grade 1

Our English lessons start with engaging stories, songs, and games that help children acquire language naturally. We focus on listening and speaking first, building confidence and fluency. Reading and writing develop organically as children become ready.

Tandem Learning: Our classroom teachers work alongside English specialists, ensuring that language learning is supported throughout the day and that every child receives the right amount of challenge and encouragement.

Progression and Checkpoints

We regularly assess children's progress in all areas—listening, speaking, reading, and writing. We track movement toward international standards like the Cambridge Young Learners framework, helping parents understand their child's journey and next steps.

Support for Every Learner

  • Level 1: Just starting English. We use lots of visuals, repetition, and fun activities to build initial confidence and vocabulary.
  • Level 2: Growing confidence. Children begin to produce simple sentences and engage in short conversations.
  • Level 3: Fluent speakers. We challenge them with more complex texts, projects, and opportunities to help other learners.

English Beyond the Classroom

We encourage families to support English at home through stories, films, and conversations. We also create opportunities for children to use English in real-world contexts—from school assemblies to project presentations to connecting with English speakers around the world.

What You'll Notice

  • Children feeling brave enough to try, even when they don't know every word.
  • Natural, playful use of English throughout the day, from songs at snack time to conversations during science.
  • Visible progression over time, with clear feedback on what they're learning and what comes next.
  • Engagement with real English—books, music, and cultural moments—not just textbook exercises.
