IT and Digital Literacy

At FLOW, informatics is about thinking, creating, and solving, not just clicking.

What Students Learn

  • Digital Safety: Understanding privacy, cybersecurity, and responsible online behaviour.
  • Programming: Block-based coding in early grades, progressing to real programming languages. Logic first, syntax second.
  • Robotics: Building and programming robots to solve real problems. Hands-on learning that brings computational thinking to life.
  • 3D Thinking: Designing and 3D printing creates projects that students can hold in their hands.
  • Artificial Intelligence: Exploring how AI works, its possibilities, and its limitations, in age-appropriate ways.
  • Office Tools: Creating documents, spreadsheets, and presentations—skills they'll use throughout their lives.
  • Web Technologies: Understanding how the internet works and building basic websites.
  • Game Design: Learning the principles of game design and creating simple games themselves.

How We Teach

  • Learning from Professionals: Tech specialists guide lessons alongside classroom teachers, bringing current expertise to the classroom.
  • Project-Driven: Every unit ends with a tangible creation—a program, a robot that works, a website launched. Authenticity drives engagement.
  • Balanced Approach: Screen time is purposeful and balanced with hands-on building, outdoor exploration, and other ways of thinking.
  • Beyond the Screens: Computational thinking happens offline too—in games, physical activities, and problem-solving puzzles.

Outcomes

  • Students who can think algorithmically—breaking down complex problems into manageable steps.
  • Digital citizens who use technology responsibly and creatively, understanding both its power and its pitfalls.
  • Young people who see themselves as creators with technology, not just consumers of it.

Our Partnerships

We work with Kiddům and Supercreators, bringing their expertise in digital literacy and creative tech projects to our students. These partnerships ensure our programme stays current and connects to the real world of digital creation.
